Missing teeth are more common than you think. Teeth can be lost from cavities, infection, gum disease, sports injuries or adult teeth that never grew. All of these reasons (and a few more) can cause gaps in your smile. And while this situation is common, it can be harmful to your oral health. Space between teeth can contribute to problems eating, shifting of other teeth, or more infection and should be discussed with your dentist. But, you don't need to accept your incomplete smile just yet.
